John is a licensed health and life insurance broker. He has spent over 35 years working inside the American healthcare system — not from the sidelines, but in the places where insurance decisions collide with real lives. His career began in Emergency Medical Services as an Emergency Medical Technician where he was first exposed to the insurance industry. John’s EMS career spanned over thirty years in EMS and healthcare. During that time, he served as the Director of Emergency Communications for one of the largest and busiest highest performance EMS systems in the nation. In that role and others, he directly monitored and supervised medical billing across multiple private ambulance systems, giving him a front‑row seat to how insurance actually functions, how it’s billed and what “good insurance” looks like.
In the back of ambulances, John asked countless patients for their medical insurance card for billing only to be told they didn’t have insurance. He’s seen the looks on people’s faces and heard their voices shutter when they have been confronted with unimaginable medical bills. Those bills often fill their mailboxes after having one of the worst experiences of their life.
Those years shaped John’s understanding of the gap between what people think their insurance will do and what it won’t cover when the bills start arriving. Those experiences and heartbreaking stories inspired him to be more than the best insurance agent he could be, they guided him to become a health insurance benefit advisor and wealth protection advocate.
For five years, he has worked as a licensed health and life insurance agent guiding thousands of people through their insurance options. Affordable Care Act plans, Medicare, military benefits, life insurance, and a wide range of ancillary protections like dental, vision, critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity coverage. John has dedicated himself to knowing the best possible, up to date information in the health insurance industry through education and training and research. It is with that information along with decades of experience that he has become an expert benefit advisor — the person people turn to when they need more than enrollment help.
Gathering information to submit an application is a rather simple, systematic process though it must be done with absolute accuracy and precision. But advising someone on the right policy or the right combination of policies based on their healthcare needs, situation and financial goals to protect their family from a financial crisis takes something very different: years of healthcare industry experience, constant continuous education requirements, pattern recognition, and an honest, no‑nonsense approach.
John takes the responsibility of helping people make the right choices about protecting wealth very seriously. Before becoming an agent, John was self-employed and received a $6,500 tax bill. It wasn’t explained how a premium tax credit with his Affordable Care Act plan worked with taxes. This course is John’s way of giving people the clarity they deserve and his way of continuing to serve. His goal is simple: to help entrepreneurs and families understand how insurance works so they can protect their wealth, their health, and their future — before a crisis causes them to become a bankruptcy statistic.
